South Holland is home to two vibrant quantum hubs, Delft and Leiden which are part of the national Quantum Delta NL (QDNL) community. Together with Innovation Quarter, these hubs are fostering a dynamic ecosystem for quantum technology. To support this growth, we are seeking an Account Manager to join the Delft team. Your mission will be to build and maintain strong relationships with all the quantum technology companies within the Delft ecosystem.

As the Account Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact for the quantum companies on the topic of business development. Your role focuses on relationship building and management, as well as identifying potential synergies between companies, with a vision to build consortia to address funding calls and challenge. As the ecosystem Account Manager, you will be at the heart of our efforts to facilitate impactful collaborations and drive economic growth in the quantum domain.

Your Responsibilities

  • Act as the dedicated account manager for all the quantum technology companies established in Delft; including those within House of Quantum and those based elsewhere.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each company’s technology ambitions and identify potential connection points with other community members.
  • Work closely with the hub director and business developer (as well as the team in the Leiden Hub) to identify potential funding opportunities and build project consortia.
  • Work with the other quantum hubs in the QDNL community to make sure connections across the national ecosystem can be made.
  • Engage with national infrastructure projects like the QKD communication networks in the Port of Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Utrecht and the Hague.
  • Align with stakeholders in the realm of dual-use technologies.
  • Represent the ecosystem at events both nationally and internationally.
  • Help attracting international companies to establish themselves in Delft.

About the South Holland Quantum Ecosystem

TU Delft and QuTech are at the heart of the Delft hub, with a thriving quantum start-up scene growing rapidly. Leiden University anchors the Leiden hub, which has also seen strong spin-out activity. These hubs collaborate increasingly across institutions, joined by partners like the Haagse Hogeschool, LIS, and Innovation Quarter. Together, they form a vibrant ecosystem bridging academia, entrepreneurship, and public institutions to foster quantum innovation and attract global player.

Requirements

We are looking for a proactive and communicative Account Manager with a passion or strong interest for quantum technology and ecosystem building.

  • Academic or HBO level education in a relevant field (science, tech, engineering, or innovation);
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in account management, stakeholder relations, or business development.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), Dutch an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience working with high-tech companies.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and coordination capabilities.
  • A connector by nature, capable of uniting diverse interests and sparking collaboration.
  • Creative, energetic, and solutions-oriented mindset.

Conditions of employment
  • Duration of contract is 1 year Temporarily with a posibility for extension.
  • A job of 32-38 hours per week.
  • A salary based on Schaal 11 of the CAO for Dutch Universities with a salary between €4537 – €6209 gross per month based on a fulltime contract (38 hours), plus 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
