Objectives

  1. Develop quantum network applications that solve real-world problems and solutions for near-term quantum hardware. Create fundamentally new applications in collaboration with potential users, ranging from solutions for today’s near-term hardware to tomorrow’s full quantum potential.
  2. Design quantum network systems that let users program and run applications on quantum network nodes, through innovations like operating systems, scheduling algorithms, and compilers.
  3. Advance quantum network architectures that optimize network performance, by formulating and analyzing fundamental system-level considerations and developing protocols and algorithms to efficiently control entanglement distribution.
  4. Create and share software tools for advancing quantum networks. Contribute to open platforms (e.g. Quantum Network Explorer) to make quantum network technology more accessible to all.
