Mission-driven divisions for quantum computing and quantum internet

At QuTech, we work on radically new technologies with world-changing potential. Our mission: to develop scalable prototypes of a quantum computer and a quantum internet by integrating world-class research and groundbreaking innovation. Through excellence, relevance, and leadership, we cultivate a vibrant quantum technology ecosystem. Together, we are creating the quantum future, because we believe that quantum technologies can be a game changer in many societal and economic sectors, including health, agriculture, energy and safety.

New concepts and the development of different hardware and software layers are all essential for realizing the promise of quantum computing and quantum internet. At QuTech, we work on all layers, including different qubit systems, each with their own advantages and unique potential. Our research and engineering activities are organised along three mission-driven divisions:

Quantum what?

After decades of hard work in science and engineering, new quantum technologies are now coming within reach. They have the potential to radically change many technological fields, from imaging to computation, as well as to profoundly affect many societal issues such as health and security. That is why countries and industries around the world are scrambling to stay ahead of developments in the quantum field. So, what is this technology actually about?
