Quantum Limits

Home Quantum Limits

The Quantum Limits project is a collaboration of the quantum technology institute QuTech and the department Quantum Nanoscience of the Delft University of Technology and the Leiden Institute of Physics of Leiden University. It is a ten-year program funded by the Summit grant of NWO, the Dutch Research Council. The starting date is January 1, 2025.

The project Quantum Limits aims to investigate the fundamental limits on physical processes imposed by the laws of quantum mechanics, by exploring the behavior of quantum systems at the nanoscale. What is the size limit of the quantum domain, how massive or how complex can a system in quantum superposition be, is there a quantum granularity of space and time? Answers to these questions can point the way to radically new fundamental or technological breakthroughs.
