“Matteo holds a master’s degree in Nanotechnology for ICTs, a joint program among Politecnico of Turin, EPFL, and INP Grenoble. During his master, he had the chance to spend an internship, at the Center of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in Paris, focusing on optoelectronics devices. His master’s thesis was conducted at the ECTM Department of TU Delft. Following his interests in applied physics and quantum technologies, Matteo started a position as a Project Researcher at The University of Tokyo, where he worked on spin-optomechanical cavities for quantum transduction, phononic metamaterials, and topological crystals. In May 2024 he started his PhD at Errando-Herranz’s group, to explore the integration of silicon color centers into photonic circuits. Beyond his research, Matteo enjoys immersing himself in trying new activities, playing volleyball, drawing, and exploring new places.”
