Scappucci Lab

Lucas Stehouwer completed a bachelor in Applied Physics at the TU Delft and master Applied Physics with a focus on quantum mechanics. The first contact with QuTech was made during his bachelor thesis where he worked alongside the research of Brian Paquelet Wuetz in the lab of Giordano Scappucci. His bachelor thesis led to a first publication and was a reason to perform his master thesis at the same lab. His thesis uses the technique of Atom Probe Tomography to analyse Si/SiGe heterostructures on an atomic scale in order to gain better insight in the phenomenon of Valley Splitting, which plays a crucial role in the performance of silicon spin qubits.

In his spare time Lucas enjoys doing sports, which currently mainly consists of cycling. The remainder of his spare time is filled with watching YouTube videos on a wide variety of topics and hanging out with friends, which ideally is accompanied with some craft beers.
