Francesco started studying Physics at the University of Milan, where he received a BSc. He went on to study Applied Physics at TU Delft. He joined QuTech during his master thesis at the Kouwenhoven Lab. After an internship at Andreas Wallraff’s group at ETH Zurich, he joined again the Kouwenhoven Lab for a PhD. He will work on hybrid semiconducting-superconducting systems of quantum dots to study Andreev bound states and Kitaev chains.

In his free time, he enjoys cooking, hiking, playing chess, and watching movies. He is also interested in science outreach and communication.
