Florian Unseld studied Communications Engineering and Electronic Engineering at the University of Applied Science Ulm and Edinburgh Napier University respectively. His master’s degree he finished at the Technical University Munich in 2020. During this time his interest shifted towards quantum computing. Leading to writing his master thesis in 2019 on electrically floating quantum dots under Lieven Vandersypen supervision. Fascinated by this work, Florian decided to continue working at QuTech on quantum dots for his PhD thesis.

Aside from his scientific interest, Florian is committed to contribute to outreach and is one of the QuTech Speakers. He gave multiple presentations at companies and universities on the basic ideas of quantum computing and the possible implementations. He also invested time in an online education course of QuTech Academy.
