Christian is part of the team researching the possibility of using silicon photonics for creating a ‘quantum network node on a chip’. He focuses on spin-split optical defects in silicon emitting at telecom wavelengths, compatible with existing optical fiber infrastructure and silicon photonics. Before starting as a PhD candidate, Christian worked on coupling tin-vacancy centers to diamond waveguides as part of his MSc degree in Physics at the Delft University of Technology.
