Alexander studied Electrical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University and KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. During his MSc, he conducted research at NTT Basic Research Laboratories and the Paul Drude Institute for Solid-State Electronics. He was awarded scholarships from the Karl Schlotmann Foundation and the Vulcanus in Japan programme. In 2024, he completed his PhD in Physics at the University of Cambridge, where he investigated tin-vacancy (SnV) centres in diamond as part of the Quantum Optical Materials and Systems group. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Hanson Lab, focusing on the development of SnV-based quantum networks.
