Alan Yu obtained his MPhil from the Department of Physics in the Chinese University in Hong Kong. His master thesis revolved around quantum sensing of superconducting material under high pressure and cryogenic temperatures by using NV centers in diamonds.

Alan joined the Quantum Integration Technology (QIT) group/the Ishihara Lab as a PhD candidate in 2021, where he is working on quantum measurements of on-chip integration devices with color centers in diamond, as well as exploring the potential of deploying machine learning methods to optimize quantum computing/ architecture.
