On December 14 and 15th, 2022, the IGNITE project was launched with an engaging in-person kick-off event held at Delft University of Technology. The event brought together core members from all partner organizations, fostering dynamic discussions on collaboration strategies, concrete next steps, optimal advancement approaches, and avenues to make a significant impact within the European Union.

The kick-off also featured insightful scientific contributions from each partner, showcasing the state-of-the-art developments and enlightening attendees on the potential of germanium quantum technology. Simultaneously, we initiated the creation of the first pan-European massive open online course on germanium quantum technology.

The IGNITE consortium is motivated by the vision that to genuinely bring about transformation and cultivate a flourishing European ecosystem in semiconductor quantum technology, excellence in science, industry, and technology must be combined with the widespread sharing of advancements to a broad community. The kick-off thus served as a foundational milestone for the IGNITE consortium, providing a solid starting point for our collective journey.
