Hermans Lab

I joined the Hermans’ Lab in September 2026 as a PhD student, where I am working on co-doped rare-earth ion samples to improve connectivity in quantum network nodes. I have a Masters in Quantum Engineering from ETH Zürich, during which I worked on silicon vacancy centers in the group of Prof. Y. Chu and on bilayer graphene quantum dots with Prof. Ensslin and Prof. Ihn for my Master thesis. My Bachelor studies in Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics were at TU Delft, where my bachelor thesis focused on crosstalk between silicon quantum dots in the Vandersypen Lab.

In my free time, I enjoy playing fieldhockey, travelling to new places, hiking, skiing, cooking and photography.
