Marco Matters received his MSc (1991) and PhD (1996) in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology in professor Hans Mooij’s Quantum Transport group. In 1996 , he joined Philips Research as a scientific researcher. In his long career at Philips, he fulfilled various roles in program management, new business development and management. During his time at Philips, he co-founded and joined several (internal) start-ups with both R&D and operational management roles. Before joining QuTech in 2023, he was the Director of Research Product management at Philips.
