Errando-Herranz Lab

Jan Riegelmeyer (born in Münster, Germany, 1997) performed both his BSc and MSc Physics at the University of Münster. He conducted his master thesis in the integrated quantum technology group of Carsten Schuck. There, he focused on the development of a nanophotonic nonlinear unit for optical artificial neural networks by studying photoresponsive molecular systems as optical nonlinearities. Following his MSc studies, he continued in Münster by working with the quantum Startup Pixel Photonics, contributing to the development of superconducting nanowire single photon detectors (SNSPDs). After all the years in Münster, he started in Carlos Errando-Herranz’s group in September 2023, where he is working on the integration of color centers into nanophotonic circuitry. Beyond the lab, he has a passion for ultimate frisbee, which keeps him active and engaged in his free time.
