Valentina Gualtieri (Greplova group) and team have unveiled QDsim, a pioneering open-source Python package designed to expedite the creation of charge stability diagrams in large-scale quantum dot devices. QDsim goes beyond traditional double or triple dots, offering swift customization of datasets and plots. Built upon the constant interaction model, QDsim reframes the task of determining the lowest energy charge configuration as a convex optimization problem.

Leveraging the CVXPY package and robust solvers, the tool streamlines the generation of stability diagrams and polytopes. The versatility of QDsim extends to facilitating the production of large-scale datasets, crucial for training machine-learning models aimed at automating tuning algorithms. While presently limited to the constant interaction model, QDsim addresses the pressing need for cost-effective and efficient data acquisition, poised to accelerate the advancement of semiconductor quantum devices.
