Quantum Software and Theory

Our goal is to develop new theory and methods to overcome the many challenges in realizing quantum technologies, and to develop useful quantum software applications. Drawing from both computer science and physics, we work towards:

  • New software applications and protocols for quantum networks, and few qubit quantum computers.
  • Efficient methods to distribute entanglement and route quantum information on a quantum internet.
  • Error-correcting mechanism and architectures to enable a large-scale quantum internet.
  • Procedures to test and verify quantum devices.

We closely collaborate with the experimental groups at QuTech, both to implement new applications, as well as to inspire and guide new theory that can overcome challenges presented by practical implementations.
