Nir Alfasi received his PhD from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. During his PhD he worked on color defects in diamond for sensing applications at low temperatures. His main focus was on coupling large ensembles of NV centers to superconducting resonators and other devices. As well as spatial magnetometry of superconducting circuits.
Nir joined QuTech in February 2020. In the lab of Wolfgang Tittel he works at Thulium defects in rare-earth crystals for quantum memories.
In his spare time, Nir likes to spend time with his wife and 2 boys, travel around Delft and the Netherlands and watching a lot of sports!
