Quantum Technology (QI) Department

Amir Sammak (Tehran, Iran, 1983) received his Ph.D. in Electrical Components, Technology and Materials (ECTM) from Delft University of Technology in 2012. In 2015 he started a post-doctoral fellowship at QuTech. In 2017 he joined TNO. Where he is working as a research scientist, at the Quantum Technology (QI) Department.

As an electronics engineer/ device physicist, he pursues research towards semiconductor material and fabrication process developments. With the particular focus on heterogeneous integration of silicon and germanium. Using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) techniques. He currently investigates development of various SiGe heterostructures as potential platforms for fabrication of CMOS-compatible silicon and germanium spin-qubits. And provides these materials for several quantum research groups within QuTech.
