After finishing his Bachelor studies in physics at the University of Goettingen (Germany), Christian pursued his Master studies at Lund University in Sweden. During the time in Lund, he specialized in solid-state physics, with his Master thesis focusing on III-V nanowire transistors. Apart from nano-electronics, Christian started to develop a strong interest in applied quantum mechanics. Which led him to start his doctoral studies in Srijit Goswami’s Lab at QuTech in 2017. In his PhD, Christian researches semiconductor-superconductor hybrids based on two-dimensional electron gases as a platform for topological quantum bits.
In his spare time Christian likes to explore the Dutch cities and nature together with his girlfriend. Apart from this, he is a passionate sportsman, organizing QuTech’s football team.
