Openings

Do you want to join a vibrant research community dedicated to the development and deployment of quantum technology? The group is always looking for motivated Master and Bachelor students who wants to embark on a research project. Send an email to Johannes Borregaard (j.borregaard@tudelft.nl) and hear more about the current opportunities in the group.

The group is also currently looking for PhD and postdoc candidates to join the efforts. Details about the openings and how to apply can be found below.

Open positions

PhD (1 position)

We are looking for candidates with good knowledge of quantum mechanics and quantum optics. Basic knowledge of quantum information theory is desirable and having carried out a Master project in a relevant field is a plus. The PhD project will be aligned with the general research goals of the group and will include modelling of quantum hardware and design/investigations of quantum information protocols. The position will be for 4 years.

The successful candidate should have completed their MS degree at the beginning of the employment.

Please enclose the following in an application:

  • Cover letter explaining the candidate’s background, qualifications, research interests and motivation for applying (max. 2 pages)
  • Curriculum Vitae summarizing education, positions, scientific publications and relevant experience.
  • Academic transcripts including copy of Bachelor and Master diploma. If the Master diploma has not been achieved an official statement from the supervisor regarding expected graduation should be enclosed.
  • Contact information of two references – including the supervisor of the Master project.

Applications should be sent via email to Johannes Borregaard, email: j.borregaard@tudelft.nl. Application deadline: June 1st 2020

Postdoc (1 position)
We are looking for an independent researcher who has successfully carried out a PhD project within quantum optics, quantum information theory or related fields. The candidate is expected to contribute to the overall research goals of the group with a focus on designing and investigating the implementation of quantum network protocols and NISQ algorithms. Furthermore, the candidate is expected to assist in supervising student research projects. The successful candidate should have obtained a PhD degree at the time of employment. The position is for 2 years.

Please enclose the following in an application:

  • Cover letter explaining the candidate’s background, qualifications, research interests and motivation for applying (max. 2 pages).
