Are you interested in Quantum Technology? TNO has an opportunity on this topic, as part of its involvement with the TUDelft in the QuTech research center for quantum computing and quantum internet.

What will you be doing?

You will be working in the Quantum Technology department of TNO, in close collaboration with the TUDelft in the QuTech research center for quantum computing and quantum internet. QuTech addresses scientific challenges as well as engineering issues in a joint center of know-how with industrial partners.

TNO’s focus within QuTech is to apply scientific knowledge and technology into higher TRL applications. One such application consists of a demonstrator effort lead by you and involving the design, building and operation of a generic Quantum Computer Demonstrator Platform: Quantum Inspire (www.quantum-inspire.com). A milestone was reached on the 20th of April 2020 with the release of Quantum Inspire v1.0 to the public, making it the first such European demonstrator, but also a world first demonstrator that showcases two technologies (transmon as well as spin qubit technology) and the first demonstrator with the spin technology.

The project is now reaching a new phase, where the system needs to be maintained for 24/7 availability via cloud access, as well as further parallel development of new technology that will be added to the online system. As Project Manager, you will coordinate these efforts and be involved in the positioning of this platform in the national context as well as within Europe. You will be surrounded by a team (~ 20 people) of scientists, engineers and technicians from TU Delft, TNO and subcontracted parties that conduct the work.
